HIMSS: Population and Public Health

Population and public health both deal with entire communities' health and well-being regardless of health at an individual level. Although both population and public health are used interchangeably, both have a different approach towards promoting health. Population health defines the health of a specific group of individuals, while public health is a matter of concern for all individuals.
