Healthcare IT News: Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Electronic health records (EHR) are digital replacements of paper medical records or charts at a clinician’s office. They provide a lot of information about patient health, including medical history, medicines used in the past, current medications, radiology reports, vital signs, allergies, health conditions, etc. EHRs are very useful in improving patient care while reducing healthcare costs. They are patient-centric records designed to make patient information readily available to authorized users. EMR health helps in sharing patient health information among different healthcare sources, including health care providers and organizations. EHR systems are highly reliable sources of patient data, but they do not provide any information about the medical and treatment histories of patients.
