Consent Management is the system of practices that gives the patients the right to control what health information the providers can access. It helps the patients to affirm their partaking in the e-health initiatives such as health information exchange, patient portal, personal health records, etc. They can also set privacy preferences as to who would have access to their protected health information or PHI and for what purpose. Consent management facilitates organizational and jurisdictional privacy policies.
