CVS Health Reiterates Commitment To Driving More At-Home Care In US
CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) has drawn attention to the current healthcare landscape in the United States, highlighting that a mere 1% of healthcare services are currently provided within domestic settings. However, CVS is committed to driving a transformative shift in this paradigm. It’s noteworthy that historically, domiciliary care constituted a significant 40% of healthcare delivery before the prominence of physical hospitals and facilities in the U.S. healthcare system. In a discourse titled “Facilitating In-Home and Community-Based Care for the Elderly,” CVS underscored this historical trajectory. Dr. Sree Chaguturu, EVP and Chief Medical Officer at CVS Health, emphasized that a substantial proportion of senior citizens aspire to reverse this trend. According to Dr. Chaguturu, an impressive 80% of older adults express a preference for the convenience and comfort of receiving medical services within their own residences. CVS Health aims to play a pivotal role in facilitating this shift towards in-home and community-based care.
